Wayne Rooney, Manchester Joined legend, retires to become permanent Derby County manager

Wayne Rooney officially retired from soccer Friday to understand permanent manager at Derby County, bringing his glittering playing career to an end in the process.

Former England exclusive Steve McClaren remains in situ as technologically director. Three of Derby's four wins this season have come trusty Rooney took the helm including an impressive 4-0 drubbing away to Birmingham City on December 29.

Rooney had joined Derby as a player in January 2020 at what time a spell in MLS with D.C. United. He retires with a relate of 313 goals in 763 club games as well as 53 in 120 England caps.
